OK, it's been a while since I've been here, but I recently switched from SuSE to Fedora Core 2, and since I was too lazy to recompile MP3 support into XMMS (It's disabled by default in FC2), I decided to see if I could get XMMS-Infopipe to work with BeepMP. Since BeepMP is just a GTK2 fork of the original XMMS source, it worked pretty well. All I had to do was apply a patch to the infopipe source code and recompile. The patch can be found here:
http://www.beastwithin.org/users/wwwwolf/code/xmms/xmms-infopipe-1.3-for-beepmp.patch.gz
Just patch it, follow the instructions, and you'll have your SigX reporting from BeepMP instead of XMMS. You don't even need to modify your Perl script! _________________

set it up though your user, not as root.
after logging into your user, do 'crontab -e' and it should open it up for your user. _________________

im very limited on my knowledge of linux.
If you were in debian, i'd tell you to do a apt-get install libwww, or if you are using the ports system of installing, you can do 'portinstall libwww' _________________

This script works like a dream, the only think i would really like to have is for it to show the current upload & download speed of eth0.
Im running CentOS 4.2.
i would like it to say somthing along the lines of:
UL: 102kb/s | DL: 122kb/s
If this is possible and anyone could help it would be much appreshated.
TIA

| OK, I'm not new to Linux, but I haven't used Pearl under Ubuntu. I know Ubuntu is debian based and I really want to know how to install Sigx under ubuntu. Any help would be really appreciated. |
