Share your templates

What are templates?

Templates are the way you want to display your stats.

How to I create my own templates?

Go to your SigXC folder and open up the templates.txt. In there you will find a few premade templates that i have included with SigX C++ for you to play with.

Here is a few that I have made:

Quote:
# my custom
"My Winamp" "Song {track} of {total tracks} | {winamp song} | {songs left} songs to go"
"My Keys" "Keys pressed: {key clicks} / Mouse clicks: {mouse clicks} / Mouse Scrolls {mouse scrolls}"
"My Uptime" "Uptime: {uptime} | Idle: {idle time}"

All you have to do is open your template.txt and paste the above into it. After doing so, you have to save the template.txt. Then, switch to SigX C++ and go to File, Load (that will reload the settings).

The main point of this is to use the Advanced Layout Variables and also the Custom Variables found under the Help in SigX C++, or inside the Examples folder in the layout and template examples.txt.

VBScripts

The new version of SigXC comes with a new feature called Scripts execute. It allows for greater expansion of SigX by making it possible for users to write their own VBScript files and giving the results back to SigX.

The following code is already part of the template.txt in version 2.1.6.

Code:
#example of script
#name, file name, update interval in minutes
"foldingStats" "{script}=scripts/foldingStats.vbs,60"
"worldPopulation" "{script}=scripts/worldpopulation.vbs,60"
"rssFeed" "{script}=scripts/rss.vbs,120"

You will find the "foldingStats" "worldPopulation" and "rssFeed" in the drop down lists and the vbscript files will be found in your "scripts" folder inside SigXC where the executable is located.

The VBscript files can be edited in notepad or your favorite text editor.

its actually anything you can execute, not limited to VBscript. the next version will include ability to run executables and batches without new windows poping up.

Also there is an issue with length of the extention, current version is coded to have a 3 character extention, so a space must be added before the comma. ie: "script.js ,50"
