anyone out there interested in making a kick ass SigX theme?

A few things to note:

  • When makein a skin make it as small in size as possible, prefferibly 5k and under total.
  • The background color, when you give it to me, should be in RGB
  • The Powered by text should not be made by you on the mage, i take care of that.

I am a designer. Not a official but I can make kick assed ones based on what I know. I just need something before me like schematics.

there are 2 sigX you can make, either one i would host on my server for everyone to have, or one to release to everyone to have and host it on their server with the remote sigx script.

the one i would host on my site for everyone would have to be no more then 3k in PNG form, has to have 4 sides which can be clipped for me to make it resizable (streachable) with a solid background, just take a look how my themed sigx look.

and other one you can make anything, static image, with a dimention of anything from 100x400 to 300x500, as long as the text will fit. (2-5 lines with size 2 font, from sigx settings)

if you have any questions just look at the ones i already made and email me. or msg me on here.

and then, my script puts it back good as new, with fit to text image.

the naming convention:

1. TL.png (thats for Top Left)
2. TF.png (thats for Top Filler)
3. TR.png (thats for Top Right)
4. LF.png (thats for Left Filler)
5. RF.png (thats for Right Filler)
6. BL.png (for Bottom Left)
7. BF.png (for Bottom Filler)
8. BR.png (for Bottom Right)

you actually did a good job, next time you can tell me the background color if its not obvious

i should have probably told you the naming convention, so in the future here it is:

1. TL.png (thats for Top Left)
2. TF.png (thats for Top Filler)
3. TR.png (thats for Top Right)
4. LF.png (thats for Left Filler)
5. RF.png (thats for Right Filler)
6. BL.png (for Bottom Left)
7. BF.png (for Bottom Filler)
8. BR.png (for Bottom Right)

i prefer for the images to be PNG format, and when put together under 3k in size. preferibly 2k.

Ya'll like? I emailed you the files admin.
http://www.geocities.com/nights_the_hedgehog/SigXryansMix.zip Thats if you want to download it off my geocities site...(beware its geocities so I'm prolly already out of Bandwidth...)

Now to copy out of the Readme file I put in the .zip.

I have spent my time to create a skin for SigX that I have dubbed, "Ryan's Mix". It includes all the pictures you require and more. I included two versions: one which is the original and the other which I have made jpgs then back to pngs. This means that their file size is somewhat smaller. I also threw in a put together image of the Skin.

Oh yah, the background color (the area in the middle) is R: 56, G: 61, and B: 70. I hope it will work flawlessly for you and with SigX.

Please email me back at [email protected] or post at the forums if you need me. I will be checking both repeatedly.
Thank you for your time and for creating such an amazing program.

Please give credit to me, Ryan Porter a.k.a. NiGHTS the Hedgehog.

so far so good. Image

looking good, your fillers are like 1px thick, so if there is alot of text, there has to be alot of loops to put those fillers in side by side, i like my fillers to be as thick as possible so there wont be so many loops to fill in the gaps. and i also made the white corners transperant.

overall you did a great job.

can we have a better name then Ryan's Mix, prefferibly one word that sounds cool: like Jellatenous, or Exiguous, or Troglodyte

I'll get to work on a name now...
I've always been told to keep the fillers short :/ But I'll keep that in mind next time I make a skin.

Actually I found your post to be very informative. But then again I have done skins like for other programs.

Oh, How big SHOULD the fillers be? Are we talking 5 pxs, 10 pxs, or even bigger? I'll look at my sig and figure out a good size unless you specify one.

Welp, here's my try, lol.

I know it looks a tad lame, but it's supposed to be simple.
